Youth Summer Girls Softball (Grades 2 thru 8) - Summer 2022

T-ball, Baseball, & Softball seasons are fast approaching – be sure to get your child registered for our upcoming Summer 2022 season!

Please register your child based on the grade they will be entering in Fall of 2022.

Weekday games (based on the day/division you register for) - NO WEEKENDS!

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the season last?: We strive to get every team at least 7 games.

When and where are practices?: Practices will be held on either Monday OR Tuesday, and can begin the week of May 30 - this will be determined by your volunteer coach.

Can I request a certain coach/teammate?: We do our very best to accommodate your request. In most cases we can make this happen, but it will depend on roster availability in most cases.

When will I hear from a coach?: All coaches are asked to contact their players about a week before the first practice or game.

Can participants play up or down a grade: Players can play up a division, but not down.

What day and times are my games?: Games will be played on the same day and same time every week, based on what division you signed up for.

What type of ball will be used?: For all grades 3rd and under, a soft touch ball will be used. For all grades 4th and above, a hard touch ball will be used.

What if a division is full?: We will have wait lists set up for each division. If we get enough kids on a wait list to make 2 more teams, we will do everything we can to make it happen!

What do the abbreviations stand for?: DEK - deKoevend Park, CKP - Cherry Knolls Park, WCP - Willow Creek Park, HME - Homestead Elementary,

How is grade level determined?: Please register your child based on the grade they will be entering in Fall of 2022.

Grade 2/3?: Meets 2 times per week - 1 practice and 1 game. Coach pitch. Games played on grass field.

Grade 4/5?: Meets 2 times per week - 1 practice and 1 game. Transition from coach pitch to player pitch. Games played on dirt infield.

Grade 6/8?: Meets 2 times per week - 1 practice and 1 game. Player pitch. Games played on dirt infield.

When and where is the coaches meeting?: Tuesday, May 24th at the South Suburban Sports Complex. Specific details will be sent to all coaches when we get closer to this day.

Are shirts and hats included?: Yes, each player will receive a t-shirt and a MLB hat.

What equipment do I need to supply?: Players are required to bring their own glove, helmet, and cleats/comfortable shoes. South Suburban will supply the rest. (bat, tees, bases, catchers equipment, balls...)
