Youth Spring Lacrosse - Stampede Lacrosse - Spring 2025

South Suburban Stampede Lacrosse teams play in the Arapahoe Youth League (AYL). Divisions are created by experience/skill level within the grade. Participants of all skill levels will have great opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse in a environment that promotes teamwork, fun, and sportsmanship.

Teams will play 7 regular season games across the Metro Denver area. Games primarily are played on Saturdays and the occasional Sunday. Home games are played at David A. Lorenz Regional Park. Most away games will be played in the Metro Denver area, however it is possible to have an away game as far North as Boulder, or as far South at Colorado Springs.

All players are required to purchase a Stampede (black & orange) uniform that includes jersey and shorts. Stampede  upgraded to NEW uniforms in 2024. If you DO NOT have a jersey from 2024 you will need to purchase one this year. Or if you do not fit in the uniform from last year you can purchase a new size.

  • Is there a fee for Non - resident?: Yes this is added on at checkout. K - 1st $20 non-resident fee. 2nd - 8th $30 non - resident fee
  • When can I expect to hear from my coach?: As soon as we can officially form teams. The latest you should expect to hear should be between Feb 24 - Feb 28
  • When do practices start?: Practices MAY (not guaranteed) start as early as March 3. Your coach will give you specific practice information.
  • When do games start?: Games can start as early as March 8, 2025.
  • SPRING BREAK GAMES?: SSPRD serves Cherry Creek, Douglas County, & Littleton Schools. If we need to request no games one Saturday it will be to serve Douglas County, Cherry Creek,& Littleton Schools. Expect games otherwise
  • Where are practices held?: A variety of parks across South Suburban. Primarily David A. Lorenz Regional Park, Cornerstone Park, and Medema Park. *Subject to change.*
  • How are practices determined?: The coach will choose the locations and times of practice. There will be up to, TWO practices a week between 4pm - 8pm Monday through Friday.
  • When will the game schedule be posted?: The AYL will release the schedule at a time TBD.
  • Where are games played?: South Suburban Stampede home games will be played at David A Lorenz Regional Park. Away games will be played at AYL venues. AYL does their best to make the most of your time when considering locations
  • What day are games?: Games are primarily on Saturdays anywhere between 8am - 8pm. Sunday games are possible due to reschedules from weather cancellations.
  • Do I need to purchase a uniform?: If you do not currently have the WHITE and BLACK uniform issued in 2024, YOU NEED TO PURCHASE one.
  • Are there refunds for the season?: There is a 3% processing charge for program refunds. Registrations are NONREFUNDABLE after February 16, 2025.
  • Are there refunds for uniforms?: Yes, refunds for uniforms can be given up until January 31, 2025. After January 31, 2025 uniform orders are NONREFUNDABLE.
  • Will there be a picture day this season?: Yes, pictures are optional and will be communicated with the coaches closer to the date. Date TBD.
  • What is the required gear?: Boys: Lax stick, Lax helmet w/ chin strap, Shoulder pads, Arm guards, Gloves, Mouth guard, Protective cup, Athletic cleats* Girls: Girls Lax Stick, Lax eye guards, Mouth guard, Athletic cleats*

  • When in the coaches meeting?: Coaches meeting will be held in person on February 12th. This is MANDATORY for all coaches!

  • When are playoffs?: AYL Playoffs are the weekend of May 10 - 11, 2025. ALL TEAMS MAKE PLAYOFFS!
  • Who qualifies for playoffs?: ALL teams qualify for playoffs regardless of regular season record. Teams will be seeded and play according to season record! EXPECT TO PLAY on Mothers Day!
  • When is Championship Weekend?: If your team wins all games in the playoff weekend (May 10 - 11, 2025) You will play in the Championship the following weekend: May 17 - 18, 2025!
