Frequently Asked Questions
  • When will I hear from a coach?: Sometime between Aug 21 and Aug 24.
  • How do I request a certain coach?: There is a spot on the registration form to type in your coach request; In most cases we can assign your child to that team if that coach is returning and if he/she does not already have a full roster
  • How are practices determined?: A practice availability grid will be sent out to all coaches. Time slots will be assigned based on the coaches responses and time preferences.
  • When do practices start?: Practice fields will be available starting the week of August 25.
  • When & where are practices?: Practices will be held once per week - **location, day, and time to be determined by coach**.
  • When & where are games?: 7 consecutive Saturdays starting Sept 6 and running through Oct 18 (possibly Oct 25 as well depending on league size) - held at David A Lorenz and/or Altair Park
  • How many games does each team play?: We do our very best to get each team a minimum of 7 games.
  • How can I access game schedules & when?: Schedules will be available online at www.southsuburbansports.com - on or before Aug 30.
  • When are uniforms passed out?: Either the coaches will receive their entire rosters uniforms and will pass out to players at the first practice or game, or I will have them for you at the first game.
  • Which grade should I register for?: Register your child based on the grade they will be in during the Fall of 2025.
  • Can participant play up or down a grade?: Players can play up a grade division but not down.
  • How long are the games?: Games are two twenty-five minute halves with a 3 minute halftime.
  • Are cancelled games rescheduled?: If 1 game is cancelled due to weather, it may or may not be made up - based on availability. If multiple games are canceled, we will make every effort to reschedule that game.
  • Are mouth guards required?: Yes - mouth guards are not supplied or included, but they are absolutely required!
