Frequently Asked Questions

When should I hear from a coach?: Sometime between March 13 and March 16.

How do I request a certain coach?: There is a place on the registration form to type in your coach request. In most cases we can assign your child to that team if that coach is returning & if he/she does not already have a full roster.

How are practices determined?: A practice availability grid will be sent out to all coaches. Time slots will be assigned based on the coaches responses and time preferences.

When do practices start?: Practice fields will be available starting the week of March 16.

Where are practices held?: Each team is provided 1 practice slot per week, to be held in the evenings, Monday through Friday at David A Lorenz Regional Park.

When do games start?: Saturday, March 21.

How many games in the season?: Weather permitting, we do our very best to guarantee all teams get at least 7 games.

How long are the games?: Games are (2) twenty-five minute halves with a 3 minute halftime. (running clock)

Where are games played?: David A Lorenz Regional Park, and/or Altair Park - depending on the size of the league.

When are the games played?: All games are held on Saturdays - most likely in the morning to early afternoon timeframe.

When will the game schedule be posted?: By days end, Friday March 13.

Are there playoffs in this league?: Unfortunately no - we are a recreational league. We do our best to ensure all teams play 7 games.

What grade should I register for?: Register your child based on their Spring 2026 grade.

Do I need to purchase a jersey?: ALL players MUST wear a South Suburban issued jersey in order to play. If you have a jersey from previous years, you can absolutely use those again. New jerseys are available for $15.

When will jerseys and flags be issued?: Coaches will receive their entire rosters jerseys and flags, and will pass them out to players at the first practice or game.

Can participant play up or down a grade?: Players can play up a grade division but not down.

Are cancelled games rescheduled?: If 1 game is cancelled due to weather, it may or may not be made up - based on availability. If multiple games are cancelled, we will make every effort to reschedule one of those games.

Are mouth guards required?: Yes - mouth guards are not supplied or included, but they are absolutely required!
